This is a quick and dirty walkthrough of using the ASP.NET Tag Cloud Server Control that I built, testing it with an access database and ADO.NET.  It shows off the ability to feed the control from any ASP.NET compatible datasource, the plain html view, the css styling options, the silverlight styling options, cross browser support, the degredation support for browsers which do not support silverlight, and the option to use the get it now link, along with some others.

This video was produced as part of the 2007 Microsoft Office system interoperability training for Lotus Notes developers, the DVD for which was published October 2007. 3Sharp worked with Gary Devendorf (Microsoft, http://blog.advisor.com/blog/garydev.nsf) to produce the materials and virtual machine (available on the DVD) for this two-day training session. For more interoperability information, see the InteropTips Community Site for developers of .NET and Lotus Notes applications (http://interoptips.com/).

This video shows the second demo from the session about using XML over HTTP from a Web agent and describes how to use Office Access 2007 to import Lotus Notes data. The first demo from that session was recorded by Gary and is available only on the DVD.

This is the video portion of a Visual How To that was published to MSDN June 2008 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc627286.aspx). The video and corresponding article provide information on how to:
  • Update the sample expense report form template that comes with InfoPath 2007 and publish it to a SharePoint document library.
  • Define a new SharePoint Designer 2007 workflow and attach it to the document library where the form was published.
  • Add conditional logic into the workflow designer.

This codeless approach to building an expense report workflow is an alternative to the one Mike Rand took with Visual Studio 2008 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc627283.aspx).

This is the video portion of a Visual How To that was published to MSDN April 2007 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb406004.aspx). The video and corresponding article provide information on how to:
  • Add custom code to the form template's Loading event that retrieves a parameter value with the TryGetValue method of the IDictionary returned by the InputParameters property. After the parameter value is identified, you can use the SetValue method on an XPathNavigator object to update a node value in the form's data source.
  • Upload the form template to InfoPath Forms Services and activate it to a SharePoint site collection. Use the InfoPath Publishing Wizard to save the form template to a network share. Then a server administrator uses Central Administration to perform the upload and activation procedures.
  • Add an Action element to the Business Data Catalog metadata file that points to the URL of the browser form and passes a parameter. You must increment the version number of the LobSystem element before you import the new application definition in Central Administration.

Content Controls are a new way of delimiting content within a document.  I've ben using them instead of the custom XML elements that were introduced in Word 2003.  If you are unfamiliar with content controls, take a look at this quick introduction.
